This is a crochet hat pattern for a perfectly slouchy beanie with a giant pompom.
I have named my slouchy pompom hat ‘The Ballintoy,’ after the picturesque village of Ballintoy near my place of birth, in Northern Ireland. It is famous for its remarkable scenery and beautifully situated fishing harbor. Such an exposed location often requires a warm hat, which is precisely what this pattern will produce.
This is a super slouchy hat, sized for women (head circumference 22-23 inches), and you will need bulky weight yarn to complete the project.
The pattern is suitable for beginners, with a basic crocheting knowledge, and is written in standard US terms. I have included detailed step-by-step instructions, but I also offer free support via email, should you need help with any aspect of the making process.
I strive to provide patterns that are technically correct and easy to follow, and each of my patterns have been tested for errors and pattern clarity, as well as for fit and comfort. My patterns are designed for those new to crochet, as well as the seasoned crafters amongst us.
